Dwelling Coverage "A"

What it covers :
Protection to repair or rebuild your home and any attached structures, such as a garage.

Optional :
An endorsement can be made for a "Gauranteed Replacement Cost Dwelling" which provides coverage for the cost to rebuild or repair your house at today's prices, with no deduction for depreciation, even if the amount exceeds the limits listed in your policy. You must agree to insure your house at 100% of its replacement cost and rebuild a similar house. Many times this endorsement limits the amount over the coverage "A" amount by 125%.

Other Structures Coverage "B"

What it covers :
You get 10% of coverage "A" to repair or replace other structures on your property, not attached to the home, such as detached garages and sheds.

Personal Property Coverage "C"

What it covers :
You get 50% of coverage "A" to replace your personal belongings owned by an insured, at your home or anywhere in the world.

Optional :
An endorsement can be made for a "Gauranteed Replacement Cost Contents" which provides coverage for the cost to replace your personal property with no deduction for depreciation. Most insurers increase coverage "C" to 70% with this endorsement.

Loss of use Coverage "D"

What it covers :
You get 20% of the coverage "A" to pay for any necessary increase in living expenses so your household can maintain its normal standard of living, provided your home is damaged by a covered peril and you are forced to move out temporarily.

Personal Liability Protection

What it covers :
Typically sold in amounts of $100,000, $300,000 or $500,000. Provides for protection for claims or lawsuits brought against you or members of your family living with you for bodily injury or property damage for which you may be liable.

Medical Payments to Others

What it covers :
Typically sold in amounts equal to $1,000, $2,000, or $5,000. Commonly referred to as "Med Pay", it covers medical expenses resulting from bodily injury to others.
